OCTOBER 13-17, 2019
DONNELLY RIVER, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
SPEAKERS & WORKSHOP PEEPS
WHERE & WHEN
The next Camp Common Folk goes down October 13-17, 2019 and for the fifth year in a row we’re back at Donnelly River, Western Australia - about a 3.5 hour drive south of Perth. Check-in is at 2pm on the Sunday and check-out is 10am on the Thursday. 92 hours of freaking awesome.
Your ticket gives you access to all the speakers & workshops. You won’t have to pick and choose, and you won’t miss anyone speaking. 4 days & 4 nights of learning, with a huge emphasis this year on the practical. Speaker presentations, Q&A’s, bonfire nights, model shoots, pizza parties, organised shoots, the CommonFolk Games, so many new friends, swag bags. Your own bedroom in a cottage. All your lunches & dinners. And of course a big party on the final night.
⚡FOUR NIGHTS ACCOMMODATION AT DONNELLY RIVER⚡
Cos we know how much it sucks paying for a photography thing then having to sort out and pay for accommodation on top of it. You get your own room, in an awesome little cottage on-site, and it's all awesome. Honestly if you’ve never been to Donnelly River before, it’s actually the best. Wild kangaroos and emus just wandering about (possibly trying to steal your food, but in an amazingly adorable way), and you’re surrounded by epic forest. Fuck yes.
⚡LUNCHES & DINNERS PROVIDED⚡
None of this half-sandwich nonsense you might get at an office ‘retreat.’ This thing is catered af.
⚡KICKASS SPEAKER LINEUP⚡
You saw the names, and we know what these guys are all like, their approaches, how much they have to offer. And you get to see them all. Not like those conferences where you have to pick and choose and for some reason they put two awesome ones on at the same time. /vent
We’ve got some cool workshops lined up. Like, seriously cool. We'll add more details later, but stuff like this year there’s more of a focus on the practical side of wedding photography than ever before. You’ll defs want to bring your camera and some spare memory cards.
⚡PARTY PARTY PARTY PARTY PARTY⚡
Every night is pretty chill but the Wednesday night is the kickass flash party. Cos nobody knows how to party like wedding photographers. Probs cos we’ve seen all the best d-floor moves at weddings we’ve shot and can just steal them.
⚡CONNECTING WITH OTHER RAD WEDDING PEEPS⚡
This. This is the best part of it. This is why you go to workshops and conferences. Learning is great, but having people you stay in touch with long after the camp is awesome.
⚡HUGE CREATIVITY BOOST FOR THE WEDDING SEASON⚡
Because conferences and workshops at the end of a wedding season don’t make sense. Seriously.
⚡ACCESS TO THE COMMON FOLK ALUMNI FB GROUP⚡
Okay we hate FB as much as the next guy - but the only reason we haven’t deleted our accounts is because of the CF Alumni Group - which is a couple hundred (and growing) of the raddest wedding photogs around where you can ask any questions and peeps are more than happy to help out. Pricing, gear, editing, workflow, money… anything you can think of probably already has been asked, or should be asked.

WHAT EVEN IS COMMON FOLK
We’re a no-ego, no-rockstars, no-ribbon-wearing kind of kickass wedding photography community. We’re all about sharing & having a great time whilst learning & picking up a bunch of new rad friends along the way. We run a bunch of workshops and similar throughout the year, but Camp Common Folk is our big thing.
2018 CAMP COMMON FOLK HIGHLIGHTS
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“That was hands down the best fucking thing I’ve done in my life to get inspired and fired up about the year ahead and in general about the life and career I’ve chosen”
“Camp is a sure fire way to speed up the process from pleb to ledge.”
“I actually can't even put into words how eye opening this experience was. I have tried to explain to people what camp was like, and I think only people who attend really get the magnitude of how it can impact you. I never thought that would happen, I just thought I was going to a photography workshop!”
“It was such a life changing, emotional mind fuck of an experience but in the best damn way! More than the speakers though, was the insane amount of support, love and acceptance from such an incredible community. That’s what sets y’all apart from the rest.”
